Sebastian Ebbing
Managing Director
Sebastian Ebbing was appointed Managing Director of Bestship in 2026, tasked with leading the company into its next phase of commercial growth. A maritime expert with more than 15 years of experience, he combines a strong operational foundation with deep expertise in fleet performance, decarbonization, and regulatory affairs. Sebastian is known for making fleets both cleaner, more competitive and turning energy efficiency, alternative fuels, and emissions compliance into commercial advantage rather than cost.
Over the course of his career, Sebastian has built up and led several fleet performance centers for shipping companies, optimizing the commercial and technical performance of vessels and fleets. He has also advised the German government and industry in Brussels within the European Commission and in negotiations at the International Maritime Organization in London. Before joining Bestship, he held several senior management roles within the MPC Capital Group, leading on sustainability, regulation, and governmental affairs.
Stefan Schindler
General Manager
Stefan Schindler was appointed General Manager of Bestship under the new shareholders Wilhelmsen Group and MPC Capital AG, in 2025. He has been Technical Director of the company since 2021 – at the time, a subsidiary of Zeaborn Ship Management – and brings with him almost three decades of broad experience in the shipping industry, both on the owners' and managers' side.
Stefan started his seagoing career as an engineer on container vessels with Hamburg Süd. Early on, he gained experience as a newbuilding supervisor and site manager in Korea, Romania and China. He later held various responsible positions ashore at the shipping company Hamburger Lloyd, including Vessel Superintendent, Fleet Manager, Project Coordinator and Head of Technical Department. In 2021, he joined Zeaborn Ship Management as Senior Vice President Projects & Performance.
